Springbank Dancers has some of Calgary's most experienced and passionate teachers. Every day they bring their creativity, knowledge and love for dance to the studio. Each instructor brings different and exciting elements to their classes, and their goal is to ensure each class is enjoyed by each student while providing advanced direction and choreography. At Springbank Dancers, we encourage all intentions of instructed dance. Whether the student dances to enjoy themselves while expressing their creativity, or wants to pursue a career in dancing, we offer a range of different programs and disciplines. Each instructor is chosen for their experience, unique attributes, commitment to the students and studio, and their warm and open personality.

Artistic Director, Studio Owner, Teacher - ADAPT, AAC 

Background: Miss Devon is going into her 10th year as Owner and Director of Springbank Dancers!!! She began Figure Skating at age 5 and became intensely competitive. To increase her strength and poise, she began taking ballet and jazz, which quickly became a new passion for her. Soon after, she started student teaching and expanding her knowledge in various disciplines of dance, attending multiple studios, classes, and work-shops around the city. Miss Devon danced professionally for the Michael Bernard Fitzgerald production for two years, which toured throughout Southern Alberta. She also worked closely with the Production Managers at So You Think You Can Dance Canada auditions in 2008, and choreographed for various fundraisers and events, including "ONE Voice of World Dance" and the Olympic Torch Relay 2010. Miss Devon travels North American to take dance classes and teacher's workshops and is a fully certified ADAPT instructor and has received full certification as an Acrobatic Arts instructor, up to the Advanced level. Miss Devon is driven to always be expanding her knowledge and experiences to pass down to her students.


Miss Devon and husband Carey are now the proud parents of two boys, Zac (3yrs) and Knox (1yr)! While you won't see the boys in any classes yet, Miss Devon sees the entire studio as an extension of her Family and hopes that each student feels the acceptance and care the studio embraces. xx

Assistant Director, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre Instructor, Competition Choreographer

Shana has been dancing and performing since the age of 3. She has been training in Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Ballroom throughout North America. Her extensive training and performing experience has led her to winning numerous awards and scholarships in Canada and Internationally. She has had the privilege to work with the Alberta Ballet, M.A.D.D Rhythms (Chicago based tap company), Essential Elements Hip Hop Crew, Xtreme Dance Conventions,The Flaming Lips, Jubilations Dinner Theatre and has assisted and demonstrated for Choreographers such as Melissa Williams, Nico Archambault, Bradley Rapier, Gustavo Vargas and Jason Young. As well as being a trained dancer, Shana has been  classically trained in voice for the past 15 years and has won numerous awards at vocal competitions as well as being a Guest vocalist for various performances in Calgary.  Recently she has been seen In Calgary's own "Rocky Horror Show" staring as "Magenta". Shana is so excited for the upcoming season and we are so happy to welcome her back for a second year as Assistant Director!

Acro and Jazz Instructor  

Miss Calla has been dancing for 15 years, training at the Medicine Hat College. She has trained in many disciplines such as jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, tap, hip hop, ballet, musical theatre and acro. Along with dancing Calla was involved in school musical all through junior high and was the head choreographer throughout high school. Dance and theatre have brought many opportunities to train, travel and perform in various places across North America including dancing at Edge Performing Arts Studio and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, dancing at Broadway Dance Centre in New York, Theatre workshop at Second City and Chelsea studios in New York and Disney Theatre workshop in Los Angeles. She has obtain her Junior Acrobatique Acro Certification, currently working toward her Intermediate Certification, and is excited to start working towards her ADAPT Jazz & Tap certification this summer. Calla is excited to join the Springbank dancers team and share her love and passion for dance with her students!

Marketing and Communications Specialist  

Miss Erin has been studying dance for the past 19 years. She has performed and choreographed for festivals, competitions, fundraisers and events receiving a variety awards and accolades for her performances as well as choreography.  Miss Erin plans to continue her training by taking workshops and conventions whenever possible. Miss Erin enjoys working with students of all levels and ages in jazz, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre. She loves to see them grow and reach their personal goals through safe technical training and challenging original choreography. 

Miss Erin graduated from the University of Calgary in 2009 with a degree in Communications where she then worked in oil and gas for a few years before taking time off to be home with her family (Miss E has two kids, Lyla (4) and Jake (1)).. Miss Erin is so excited to be able to bridge her love of dance with her experience in marketing and communication and couldn’t be more thrilled to do so at Springbank Dancers. 

  Miss Brooklyn

Jazz Instructor, Competition Choreographer

Miss Brooklyn is one of our senior daners and has been dancing for 11 years, all of which have been at Springbank Dancers. Within those years, she has had many training and performance opportunities, such dancing at Broadway Dance Centre in New York Centre, dancing in Disneyland and California Adveture, taking many classes at Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver, and even attending a dance tour (with a scholarhip) in Barcelona, Spain. After High School, Miss Brooklyn is plannin to spend 3 months in California and work on her modeling career and then possibly training to become a clinical aethetician. However, adventurous and spontaneous are two works that can be used to describe Miss Brooklyn so it will be a surprise one where she'll be over the next few years! One thing we can be sure of is that she'll always be sticking around the studio, no matter where she goes!

Miss Hannah has been a Senior dancer and Student Teacher at the studio for the past few years and we are SO excited to welcome her onboard to our regular teaching. Ballet Teacher, A.I.S.T.D

Miss Kristen has been dancing for 20 years, beginning her training at Crossings Dance. She has attended The Banff Centre Summer Dance Program and was accepted into the Okanagan Summer Dance Intensive in Kelowna, British Columbia. Miss Kristen attended Project Dance in New York City in 2006 and 2008, as well as in Toronto in 2009. In the fall of 2010 Miss Kristen successfully accomplished her R.A.D. Advanced 2 Ballet examination. In 2013 she graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Communications. She has been a member of Corps Bara Dance Theatre in both the youth and professional companies, and is currently rehearsal director for the youth company. Recently she was awarded her Associate with I.S.T.D. and looks forward to attaining her Associate Diploma.

We are so excited for Miss Kristen is back this season to challenge our dancers assist in the continuing growth of our reputable ballet program!

Lyrical/Contemporary Instructor, Competition Choreographer

Miss Maryn began dancing with Springbank Dancers at the age of 12. With a passion for dance and collaborative art, she recently completed her BFA in Dance from the University of Calgary. Being heavily involved as a performer and choreographer throughout her degree, Miss Maryn has had the opportunity to work with local and international dance artists who have expanded her perception of the art form. Local credits include performances with the Alberta Dance Festival, Peggy Baker Dance Projects, kloetzel&co, W&M Dance Projects, and the Ignite! Festival. In August of 2014, Maryn travelled to Namibia, Africa to participate in a dance internship program with the Ombetja Yehinga Organization; an organization which aims to raise awareness about social issues through the arts. Maryn is constantly working to expand her body of knowledge in contemporary dance, and is so excited to share that with her students!

Ballet Teacher, BFA, TTP Dip (NBS), ISTD, RAD RTS

Rae-Lee is a dance instructor who is devoted to aspiring young dance artists. Her goal is to create healthy and enthusiastic dancers who love art and will positively influence the world of dance.  Rae-Lee began her ballet and contemporary training in Alberta at Crossings Dance Studio. She danced for six years in Corps Bara Dance Youth Company traveling around Alberta, Toronto and New York City.  In 2012, she began her training in contemporary dance at Simon Fraser University where she furthered her skills in modern dance and choreographic composition. Rae-Lee moved to Toronto in 2014 to learn from renowned faculty at Canada's National Ballet School's Teacher Training Program. During her training at NBS she obtained her teaching qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2017, Rae-Lee graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Contemporary dance from Simon Fraser and her Teacher Training Diploma. 

Rae-Lee is excited to be returning to Calgary to begin spreading her new knowledge she has gained while also learning from the teachers and students at Springbank Dancers and around the province. Feel free to check out Miss Rae-Lee's personal website too:
