Our Classes for 2023-24

"Fusion" Dance

For age 3+ looking to dance and discover confidence and creativity through movement. Offering a fun, energetic, and interactive environment to keep our dancers involved and busy during their class each week. From dance games, to technical exercises, to tumbling and beyond, this class helps increase the extent of body movement to improve coordination, control, and muscle awareness. And as this is a "Fusion" class, we will strive to expose the dancers to various styles including Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, and Acro while having a ton of fun!!!

What are the levels of each class?

As we are only able to run one afternoon of classes at SCC, this only allows us to provide programs specific to age groups. We are proud to always welcome new participants however all classes at SCC are introductory in nature.

When are the sessions at SCC?

FALL SESSION: September 12 to December 19 (NO classes Tues. Oct. 31)

*Our Winter Performance Day is on Sun. Dec. 17 @ BCCA

WINTER/SPRING SESSION: January 9 to June 12 (NO classes on Feb. 20 or Apr. 2)

What are the lengths of each class?

PreSchool, approx. age 2.5 to 4 - 30min

Kinder, approx. age 4 to 6 - 45min

Grade 1-6, approx. age 7+ - 45min

How much do the classes cost?

What is the required attire?

Fitted, stretchy clothes (can wear tan tights and a black or pink leotard with a black or pink skirt or shorts if you have them); preferably tan jazz or pink ballet dance shoes (or black for the boys) as runners are too stiff (we do have a ton of second hand ones for sale at the studio!).

What is the required hair?

Please just ensure your dancers' hair is pulled back and out of their face for class (hair styles could include a bun, pony tail, braid, half-up, etc.)

Am I allowed to sit in on the class?

For the comfort of the dancers, building a proper class structure with respect for the teacher, we do not typically permit parents or family members to sit in on the class. Instead, we will try to host a Viewing Week and have our perfomances at the end of each session!

Does my dancer get to participate in Recital?

Absolutely, our SCC students will get to do Recital! We will have a Winter Showcase in December and a Full Recital in June...the cost to perform has already been included in your fees (including costume, a couple of tickets, a video, etc.)!!
